USD Group has an ongoing commitment to empower women around the world and promote their entrepreneurial skills to succeed, grow and be able to support their families as a separate economic entity. Through the economic empowerment of women, it aims to contribute to greater gender equality, as well as to more job creation and economic development.
The USD Consortium's Women Entrepreneurship Development Program (WEDP), launched recently, will use a combination of structured capacity building classroom sessions, trainings, workshops, field trips, webinars and mentoring support customized to the needs of their businesses, to strengthen both the entrepreneurs and their enterprises and connect them to institutions and the marketplace. They will undergo training in professional and soft skills to build robust businesses.
The six month, dedicated program will be implemented with the support of Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) across India, but In the first phase, we will be focusing Delhi, NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Hyderabad.

During the program, the women entrepreneurs will be taught a number of aspects of running a business and making it sustainable in addition to life skills, social media marketing, operations, replenishment, logistics, supply chain, product marketing, financial planning and resource management, negotiation skills, among others.
Women entrepreneurs from WEDP will be given certificates on successful completion of their training program.
